The leading company in the flexible car leasing business—which has kept all its employees on the job and has not resorted to ERTE—has adapted its operations to keep its branches open throughout Spain and ensure service to its customers while taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Wednesday, April 8 – Alquiber never stops. Even under the most restrictive conditions, the leading company in the flexible vehicle leasing business continues to operate at full capacity to provide service and support to its customers, especially those performing essential work in the fight against the pandemic (logistics, water and electricity supply, hospitals, laundries, SUMMA 112, etc.). To this end, Alquiber has kept all its jobs intact, without resorting to temporary layoffs (ERTE), while incorporating all necessary precautions into its routines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Furthermore, the company has joined this humanitarian effort by providing vans to small merchants at a market in the Carabanchel district so they can make home deliveries to those in need.
Alquiber’s Board of Directors, which has decided to reduce its members’ salaries by 50% to ensure the continuity of all these jobs, is keeping all its branches nationwide open and operating at full capacity to support these vulnerable clients, now that they need it more than ever. However, it has implemented a series of measures to ensure the safety of its clients and employees and eliminate any possibility of infection in the course of its operations:
- All Alquiber branches remain open, but with special hours (from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). During these hours, customers are served one at a time, and the safety distance recommended by health authorities is strictly maintained at all times. In addition, hand sanitizer is available for all customers to use on site.
- At Alquiber's workshops, all staff members have access to personal protective equipment (gloves, face masks, hand sanitizer, etc.), which is essential for performing their work and eliminating the risk of infection.
- To ensure its customers are not exposed to any risks, Alquiber’s vehicles—whether passenger cars, SUVs, vans, trucks, or isothermal vehicles—are disinfected with bleach as soon as they arrive at the company’s facilities (which have undergone a meticulous, comprehensive disinfection process). While being serviced, all vehicles are protected with seat and steering wheel covers, as well as a paper cover on the floor. The company has also incorporated the most effective treatment currently available on the market—ozone machines—into its standard thorough cleaning routine.
- To the extent possible, office staff have been working remotely and continue to handle the necessary administrative tasks. Alquiber’s call center remains fully operational.
In addition, Alquiber has taken other measures aimed at boosting employee morale and maintaining a positive work environment, such as sending out a daily internal newsletter featuring reliable and, as far as possible, positive news. Finally, the company has drawn on its expertise to share a series of tips with the public on how to properly disinfect cars, with the goal of enabling everyone to help prevent the spread of the virus in a simple way.
Alquiber is a Spanish company founded in 2000 and a leader in the flexible leasing business, serving large companies, SMEs, and self-employed professionals who need vehicles—whether industrial or commercial—to carry out their business plans. In July 2018, Alquiber began trading on the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) in the Expanding Companies segment, making growth the company’s main driver, both in terms of expanding its fleet and opening new branches. The company’s current market capitalization stands at 33.13 M€.
